A research group is a group of employees at SSHF who thematically or methodologically research the same topic, and which has been approved by the central research committee.

Innovation is new solutions that are put into use. In the Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, the term "new, useful, and made useful" is used. Innovation should provide better patient treatment and healthcare services with optimal resource utilization.

Project Undiagnosed Vision Loss will reveal vision loss before we ourselves know it. The project is three years long and involves actors from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
