Sørlandet Hospital provides specialist health services to residents of Agder and others who wish to come here. We also have regional and national functions.

The hospitals are located in Arendal, Kristiansand and Flekkefjord. We also have district psychiatric centres and outpatient clinics in several other locations in Agder.

The hospital’s systematic work on quality and patient safety aims to ensure high-quality and safe health services in Agder. Departments must have access to the expertise and infrastructure they need to continuously improve the services they offer patients.

The certification scheme is anchored in the Agder Regional Plan 2030 and the Regional Plan for Equality, Inclusion and Diversity 2015–2027 (the LIM Plan). In autumn 2023, the University of Oslo (UiO) is establishing its first external campus at Sørlandet Hospital. UiO Campus South starts with 10 medical students who can complete two of their study years in Southern Norway.
