Sørlandet Hospital HF is Agder's largest workplace with over 7,000 employees. Our operations are spread across several locations with many job opportunities. We offer:

Educating healthcare personnel is one of our four statutory tasks. This includes specialist training for doctors, collaboration with educational institutions on basic training, further and continuing education, and other competence development for our own employees.

As an employee with us, you automatically become a member of the Municipal National Pension Fund
- KLP. Membership grants the right to old-age pension, disability pension, and survivor's pension.

  • The KLP pension scheme covers nurses in positions of 20% or more.
  • The pension scheme also covers permanent and temporary nurses working less than 20% but who take extra shifts/hours so that the average per quarter corresponds to a 20% position.
  • For all other employees, the scheme applies if you work an average of 14 hours per week in a quarter.
  • Temporary employees are included in the KLP pension scheme from their first day of employment.

All employees are covered by occupational injury insurance, group life insurance, leisure accident insurance, and travel insurance for business travel.

Sørlandet Hospital has housing for rent for students and temporary staff.

Arendal has 22 housing units in various price ranges and sizes. All are located at Hauglandsheia 2, which is a short walk from the hospital.

Infection controlPersonnel who will work at the hospital must be tested for tuberculosis and MRSA before starting if they are in a risk group.
