Sørlandet Hospital offers specialist healthcare services to the residents of Agder and others who wish to come here. We also have regional and national functions.

The hospitals are located in Arendal, Kristiansand, and Flekkefjord. In addition, we have district psychiatric centers and outpatient clinics in other locations in Agder.

Managing Director Nina Mevold

The management of Sørlandet Hospital consists of the management group with the Managing Director, directors, and staff directors. Management governs through the line organization and is the highest administrative and strategic unit in the hospital.

Our treatments

Patients and caregivers are our most important change agents. Their experience and input are necessary to ensure equal healthcare services for all residents, regardless of background. Our user committees are always included in the consultation process when designing our services and offerings.

Equal working life is part of Agder County Council's long-term focus on equality, inclusion, and diversity. The certification scheme is anchored in the Regional Plan Agder 2030 and the Regional Plan for Equality, Inclusion and Diversity 2015-2027 (LIM plan). Equal working life as a tool should contribute to a greater degree of equality, inclusion, and diversity in working life. In 2018, Sørlandet Hospital was certified and recertified in 2021.

In the autumn of 2023, the University of Oslo (UiO) will establish its first external campus at Sørlandet Hospital. UiO Campus south will start with 10 medical students who can spend two of their study years in Sørlandet.
