Center for Medical Simulation

Using medical simulation, we train on procedures, patient handling, and communication without involving any risk to patients. This increases the quality of the work we do and provides better patient care and teamwork in real situations.

SimSørlandet is a leading arena for training and competence development in Southern Norway Hospital Trust. Weutilize simulation as a pedagogical method, and train on technical and non-technical skills in exercises focused on communication and teamwork.

SimSørlandet holds courses and participates in professional days. In collaboration with departments, we can tailor training scenarios to meet specific needs.

We facilitate and conduct regular exercises in SSHF. We train acute medical teams, pediatric teams, cardiac arrest teams, trauma teams, and neurological teams. SimSørlandet is an integral part of the thrombolysis project at SSHF. SimSørlandet operates the Mini-Invasive Center at SSA where we offer laparoscopic simulation and surgical skills training. We collaborate with the University of Agder, and are contact persons for Helse South-East via SimOslo.

Municipalities in Agder and departments at Southern Norway Hospital Trust can contact SimSørlandet for assistance, whether it concerns equipment, premises, or the need for a facilitator. We also assist with the implementation of team training with customized scenarios.
