Emergency Medicine for Doctors and Emergency Medical Personnel

The course covers the requirement for a clinical subject course in emergency medicine for the specialty of general practice, as well as the requirement for doctors and other personnel at emergency medical services who participate in clinical work at the emergency medical services who participate in clinical work.

The course is for doctors, nurses and other emergency medical personnel, and is based on a theoretical pre-course online (e-learning), as well as a two-day gathering with a focus on practical skills, team training and communication.

The Norwegian Medical Association has approved the course as counting towards 15 hours of mandatory subject course in general practice, with the right to financial support from the Norwegian Medical Association's Education Fund 2.

The course costs 6950 kroner. This includes a two-course dinner on day 1, lunch with a buffet on day 2, in addition to refreshments during the breaks during the course.

Online theoretical course

You must take both the theoretical course and the practical course if you have not taken the theoretical course in emergency medicine previously, and work at the emergency medical service or are part of the emergency medical vehicle team.

You must complete the practical course in emergency medicine every 5 years, but do not need to take the theoretical course more than once, if you take the course as part of recertification as a specialist in general practice, or to maintain the right to specialist fees.

The course must be completed before the course start and a course certificate must be brought with you at the course start. If a course certificate cannot be presented, a course certificate will not be issued.
