The course is for doctors, nurses and other emergency medical personnel, and is based on a theoretical pre-course online (e-learning), as well as a two-day session with a focus on practical skills, team training and communication.
The Norwegian Medical Association has approved the course as counting as 15 hours of mandatory topic course in general practice, with entitlement to financial support from the Norwegian Medical Association's Education Fund 2.
The course costs 6950 kroner. It includes a two-course dinner on day 1, lunch with a buffet on day 2, in addition to refreshments during breaks throughout the course.
You must take both the theoretical course and the practical course if you have not taken the theoretical course in acute medicine previously, and work at the emergency medical service or are part of the emergency medical vehicle team.
You must complete the practical course in acute medicine every 5 years, but do not need to take the theoretical course more than once, if you take the course as part of recertification as a specialist in general practice, or to maintain the right to specialist fees.
The course must be completed before the course start and a course certificate must be brought with you at the course start. If a course certificate cannot be presented, a course certificate will not be issued.
