We encourage parents/guardians to send a short video recording showing the child in activity, play, and interaction in everyday life. Before the first treatment stay, we talk to the parents/guardians by phone, possibly via video conference, and conduct a start-up meeting. We want both parents/guardians and professionals to participate in this meeting. More information will be given here about what participation in the PIH program entails, the program's content, treatment principles, and the establishment of targeted teamwork between parents/guardians and local professionals.
It is necessary that at least one parent/guardian participates in the training throughout the program period at the hospital. In addition, we would like both parents/guardians to participate together both during the treatment stays and at collaboration meetings that take place between stays. We want both parents/guardians to receive the same information from us, to have a common experience and knowledge base, and together to be able to participate in setting goals for their child.
