Radiological Department, Kristiansand

We perform several types of examinations: X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, angiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, and nuclear medicine. We have outpatient services during the day on all weekdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. On some days, we also have outpatient services in the evening. From 3:00 PM onwards on weekdays, on weekends, and on public holidays, we only provide emergency care to admitted patients, as well as emergency care to patients arriving from the emergency medical service and the emergency room.

The Radiological Department is located on the 1st floor of the hospital's main building at Eg. Enter the main entrance and turn right after the cafe.
The Nuclear Medicine Unit is located on the 2nd floor: Enter the main entrance and take elevator B.

Breast Diagnostic Center (BDS) in Kristiansand is located in the Radiological Department on the 1st floor, enter the main entrance and turn right after the cafe.

You should initially use public transport, and you must pay a deductible. To get reimbursed for expenses incurred during the trip, you must fill out a travel expense form and send it toPatient travel.

In the hospital pharmacy in Kristiansand, you can drop off prescriptions and purchase pharmacy goods.

You will find us on the 1st floor of the main building, near the entrance.

Children and young people are affected when someone in the family is ill and needs to understand what is happening. It may be that you yourself are a patient, a caregiver, or that you are a parent of sick children with siblings. We at the hospital will contribute to ensuring that children and young people in your family are well cared for.

You will find the kiosk on the 1st floor in the main building's vestibule at Eg.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM

In the kiosk, you can buy, among other things, newspapers, magazines, fruit, chocolate, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, flowers, cards, and various souvenirs.

Cafeteria
"Kilden" cafeteria is located together with the kiosk and has the same opening hours.

The cafeteria serves, among other things, rolls, baguettes, salads, cakes, hamburgers, and sausages.

Parking spaces at Sørlandet Hospital are subject to a fee from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All those who wish to park on the hospital grounds must follow the signs and instructions on the payment machines.

At the hospitals in Arendal and Kristiansand, it is possible to pay for parking with EasyPark (mobile solution), card, or coin at other locations. See signs for both payment options and time limits.

At the hospital in Kristiansand, you can register your parking via the Easypark app, via the machine where you park, or the Flowbird website.

At the hospital in Arendal, cameras read the vehicle registration numbers upon entering and exiting the parking garage through the Autopay service. Follow the signs and read the instructions.


Pay at the payment machine

If you have not created a profile atAutopay.io​, you can pay at the machine at the main entrance. Enter the vehicle registration number. You can pay with card or cash, but the machine does not give change.

Pay automatically

Register as a customer with registration number and bank card at www.autopay.io. Once you have registered, you will automatically pay each time you park in the parking garage.

During certain periods, e.g. during heavy snowfall, it may be difficult to find a parking space. We therefore recommend being out in good time.

For electric cars:

Arendal: Electric cars can park free in areas marked with a maximum of 1, 2, or 3 hours. On other areas, a fee must be paid from the first hour.
Kristiansand: Electric cars pay a fee from and including the first hour.
Flekkefjord: Electric cars pay a fee from and including the first hour.

Do you need to charge your car? Not all of our hospital areas have charging stations, and those that do have a limited number. You therefore cannot rely on being able to charge your car while you are visiting as a patient or visitor. You can see all charging stations here:

Blood donors park free of charge at the hospital.Further information is available from the blood bank.


Parents (under 18 years) with a hospital stay of more than 14 days,receive free parking during their child’s continued stay. This also applies if the child’s stay starts at another hospital. Contact the department at the hospital for further information.

Valid HC card gives free parking in designated areas
Contact the Service Desk to register your HC card. HC vehicles are exempt from time limits unless otherwise indicated on the signs.

Parking for giving birth Kristiansand
There is free parking for women giving birth outside the Women's Department at the hospital in Kristiansand. The maximum parking time is set to 2 hours.
