Young people at the hospital

After treatment

When you are discharged from the hospital, you may need to be followed up by your family doctor, or at the hospital. Being young and having a chronic illness can be difficult. How to cope with it and where can you get help?

I’m going home

Before you go home, you and your relatives will have a conversation with both a doctor and a nurse.

They will, among other things, inform you about what you need to pay attention to after the operation or treatment and what will happen next. Perhaps you should start taking new medications? Some people also need to rest and stay home from school for a few days.

I’m going back for a check-up

Many need to come back to us for a check-up. During the check-up, the doctor will check how you have been after the operation or treatment. Sometimes you need to have new examinations and tests.
