Information for General Practitioners

Collaboration Physicians

The Collaboration Physician Scheme (SLO) is a network of general practitioners who work at the hospital in a part-time position. The scheme aims to improve collaboration between general practitioners and the hospital. The goal is to create holistic and well-coordinated patient pathways within individual levels and between primary health care and the hospital trust.

The Collaboration Physician Scheme is established in all four health regions and an increasing number of hospitals are linking up with experienced general practitioners in dual positions as collaboration physicians.

Through the Collaboration Physician Scheme, SSHF has agreements with general practitioners who work up to 20% of a position for Sørlandet Hospital. The collaboration physicians contribute to the departments' work on developing collaboration between primary health care and the hospital trust. The work is at a broad system level and not in relation to individual patients.
