New resource package for work with children as next of kin in municipalities
BarnsBeste is launching a new resource package that will give municipalities across the country better tools to support children as next of kin.
The resource package has been developed in collaboration with 22 municipalities, healthcare personnel and specialists from BarnsBeste, with the aim of creating a flexible, user-friendly tool tailored to local needs
“This is an important part of ensuring that children as next of kin do not slip under the radar, but receive the support they need and are entitled to, wherever in the country they live,”says Mary Ann Esperaas, specialist adviser at BarnsBeste.
The resource package contains guidelines, tools and training modules, and has been developed to help municipalities identify and care for children facing difficult life situations due to health challenges in the family.
Health challenges may include disabilities, mental illness, addiction, serious physical illness, injury or death.
