Strategy
Sørlandet Hospital Trust with ambitious research plans for the next four years
Plan for Research and Research-Driven Innovation
Research is one of four legally mandated tasks for specialist healthcare services and is a central premise for the quality and development of healthcare services.
The overall goal of the research strategy is that Sørlandet Hospital Trust will strengthen health services research and patient-facing research in all clinics and ensure breadth in the research.
Strategy Plan Sørlandet Hospital Trust 2021-2024
Research must to a greater extent than today become an integrated part of clinical operations, and more facilities should be provided for clinical studies at all levels of the hospital. A functioning infrastructure for clinical treatment studies facilitates more efficient, higher-quality clinical treatment, but is also a cornerstone for driving effective innovation and health industry development. User involvement should contribute to ensuring that the research is relevant and based on user needs.
Research activity must be adapted to population development. It will become increasingly important to measure patient-perceived quality (PROMS and PREMS), and SSHF will be a driving force for development and research on such patient-facing quality variables. SSHF will collaborate with municipalities, academia and business on health services research.
To strengthen the hospital's research activity, the following thematic areas of effort are prioritized in the Plan for Research and Research-Driven Innovation:- Organization and infrastructure, including direction for research efforts
- Clinical treatment studies
- Research-driven innovation
- Health services research
- User involvement in clinical research projects and health services research
- External collaboration and networks
