Central Research Committee
Central Research Committee SSHF (CRU)is an advisory body for the managing director and medical director in research-strategic initiatives at Sørlandet Hospital. The CRU will contribute to developing and promoting research at Sørlandet Hospital Trust. The Research Committee shall represent the research environments and be interdisciplinary in composition.
MANDATE FOR THE CENTRAL RESEARCH COMMITTEE AT SSHF
THE RESEARCH COMMITTEE SHALL
- Be an advisory body for the managing director, medical director and the research section.
- Contribute to developing and promoting research at Sørlandet Hospital Trust
- Ensure that the prioritization of resources for research is in line with overarching strategic guidelines, the Plan for Research and Research-Driven Innovation, and the hospital's needs
- Ensure that systems are established to facilitate compliance with legal requirements for responsible research activities, ensuring that ethical, medical, health science, scientific, data privacy, and information security aspects are addressed
- Ensure that internal control is implemented
- Assess and recommend applications for internal research support
- Express opinions on research ethics issues within the hospital
- Annually evaluate its own activities
- Facilitate good cooperation with universities, other healthcare providers, research environments, patient and user organizations, and relevant partners nationally and internationally
COMPOSITION OF THE RESEARCH COMMITTEE
The Research Committee shall represent the clinics and the research environments and be interdisciplinary, consisting of 2 research-competent employees from each clinic at SSK and KPH and 1 from the other clinics. The clinic director appoints the representative and deputy according to a proposal from the clinic's research committee. In addition, two user representatives and SSHF's data protection officer for research participate.
The Research Manager leads the committee, and the advisor in the Research Section is the secretary. Members are normally appointed for three years at a time, and a member can be appointed multiple times. To ensure
continuity, 3 members are rotated after 2 and 3 years respectively. The Medical Director approves the mandate and composition of the committee according to a proposal from the Research Section and the Research Committee.
