Complaints and compensation
You have the right to complain if you believe that your rights as a patient have not been fulfilled, or that you have not received the health or care services you are entitled to. Relatives may also have the right to complain.
If your complaint concerns a rights complaint, for example a complaint about a refusal, treatment deadline, lack of information or similar, use the rights complaint form.

Compensation from the Norwegian System of Patient Injury Compensation (NPE)
A patient who has suffered an injury and loss that may be due to a failure in healthcare (including having received inadequate information) can apply for compensation from the Norwegian System of Patient Injury Compensation (NPE).
Claims for compensation generally become time-barred three years after the patient becomes aware of the injury. NPE does not process claims of less than NOK 10,000 or applications for compensation for non-economic loss.
