Cancelling an appointment
Once you have been granted the right to healthcare in the specialist health service, you will be offered an appointment. If you cancel the appointment or do not attend, the hospital cannot guarantee that you will receive healthcare within the deadline you have been given.
Many other patients are also waiting for appointments. It is therefore important that you let us know as soon as possible so that someone else can take your appointment.
If you repeatedly cancel appointments or fail to attend an appointment you have been given, your need for healthcare will be professionally assessed. You may then be removed from the waiting list.
If you have been given a deadline for healthcare and have not received healthcare by that deadline, you are entitled to be offered treatment at another provider. If the deadline is breached, your hospital or treatment institution will contact Helfo Patient Referral Service. If you wish, they will find an offer for you with another provider.
If everyone attends their appointments, waiting times in the specialist health service will be shorter.
