Depression - eTreatment

Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses. It is characterized by persistent and intense sadness. Depression leads to a loss of interest in things you usually enjoy and leads to a loss of energy, making it difficult to function in everyday life.

What is eTreatment?

With eTreatment, you gain access to a knowledge-based treatment program via PC, tablet, or mobile, while being followed up by a specialist in the specialist healthcare services. This is a form of internet treatment with professional guidance.

The program for eTreatment

The program is based on cognitive behavioral therapy, a form of therapy that focuses on how thoughts and actions affect how we feel. The goal is to give you insight into what contributes to depression and how you can work your way out of it. You learn to recognize and change thought patterns, and to change how you can act to feel better.

The content of eTreatment is largely the same as you would get with face-to-face treatment. Research shows that this type of treatment can be just as effective.

Referral and assessment

How to get an offer for eTreatment for depression?

If you are already in treatment at your local DPS, we ask that you apply in consultation with your therapist.

If you are not in treatment for mental health difficulties, you can contact your family doctor and ask for a referral to us. Ask the doctor to state in the referral that you want eTreatment. Other doctors or psychologists can also refer you.

In some parts of Norway, you can apply for eTreatment via Helsenorge (scroll down to the bottom of the page)
