Become a blood donor
There is no substitute for blood. Blood is a living material and cannot be manufactured artificially – it must be donated. Many patients cannot survive without a blood transfusion. They depend on the help of blood donors.
To become a blood donor, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, be healthy and not belong to any risk groups.
You can register as a blood donor atGiBlod.no.
Here you choose a donation site (Arendal, Flekkefjord, Kristiansand or Mandal). The blood bank will then contact you.

You can park for free at all our blood banks when you donate blood.
Arendal
Free parking in the parking garage, in the area outside and in the large parking lot at Kloppene. License plate recognition is used. Enter your vehicle’s registration number on the tablet at the blood bank to get 12 hours of free parking.
The blood bank also has its own parking space reserved for blood donors. The blood bank’s parking permit must be visible in the window when using it.
Flekkefjord
Blood donors may park at the emergency services building by the police entrance. Remember to collect a parking permit from the reception desk in the emergency department.
Kristiansand
Free parking in the large parking lot. License plate recognition is used. Enter your vehicle’s registration number on the tablet at the blood bank no later than 15 minutes after entering the parking lot.
We recommend that blood donors using the EasyPark app turn off automatic camera parking before driving into the parking lot.
If the large parking lot is full, blood donors can park at “Direktørens have” or in the parking garage. In that case, contact the Service Desk to have the payment deleted.
Mandal
Blood donors can park for free outside the hospital in marked spaces or in the parking lot by the church. To park for free, you must register when parking started using an app, a parking disc or a note in the windshield.
