Become a blood donor
There is no substitute for blood. Blood is a living material and cannot be manufactured artificially – it must be donated. Many patients cannot survive without blood transfusions. They depend on help from blood donors.
To become a blood donor, you must be between 18 - 65 years old, be healthy, and not belong to risk groups.
You can sign up as a blood donor atGiBlod.no.
Here you choose the donation location (Arendal, Flekkefjord, Kristiansand or Mandal). After that, the blood bank will contact you.

You can park for free at all our blood banks when you are donating blood.
Arendal
Free parking in the parking garage, on the area outside, and on the large parking lot at Kloppene. License plate recognition is used. Enter your vehicle's registration number on the tablet at the blood bank and receive 12 hours of free parking.
In addition, the blood bank has its own parking space exclusively for blood donors. The blood bank's parking permit must be visible in the window when used.
Flekkefjord
Blood donors have access to parking at the emergency building near the entrance to the police station. Remember to pick up a parking permit at the reception in the emergency room.
Kristiansand
Free parking on the large parking lot. License plate recognition is used. Enter your vehicle's registration number on the tablet in the blood bank no later than 15 minutes after entering.
We recommend blood donors with the Easy-park app to turn off automatic camera parking before driving into the parking lot.
If the large parking lot is full, blood donors can park in "The Director's Garden" or in the parking garage. You must then contact the Service Desk to delete the payment.
Mandal
Blood donors can park for free outside the hospital on marked spaces or on the parking lot by the church. Free parking requires registering when parking started with an app, parking disc, or ticket in the windshield.
