We haveday surgeryandward 4A.

We perform advanced revisions of hip and knee prostheses in addition to inserting joint prostheses. We have a standardized process where we usually discharge our patients after 1-3 days. We also have a complete offering within shoulder surgery. In addition to arthroscopic surgery, we have extensive experience with various types of shoulder prostheses.

We use microsurgical techniques in the treatment of prolapse and narrowed spinal canal. With an open technique, we perform advanced spinal fusions. A neurosurgeon is part of the spine team.

We perform most modern techniques within orthopedic arthroscopic surgery. Operations are performed on the ankle, knee, and shoulder. We also offer stabilization operations in the shoulder and cruciate ligament surgery in the knee.

We have extensive experience with prosthetic surgery and stabilization operations for most joints in patients with rheumatism.

We treat patients with acute orthopedic injuries. This covers everything from simple finger fractures to treatment of severely traffic-injured patients.

Many people want to send a floral greeting when visiting a patient at the hospital, but due to allergies and infection risk, several of our departments are flower-free. We appreciate it if you who want to bring a gift to the patient choose something other than flowers.

Some patients also react allergically to perfume or creams with perfume. We ask that this be taken into consideration.

Many patients and relatives want to take pictures/videos or blog from their time at the hospital. Of course, you are welcome to do so, as long as you respect the privacy of others and staff.

Here are a couple of good tips for using social media for you who are a patient or relative:

  • Respect others. You must have consent if you want to take pictures or videos of patients or staff. All patients have the right to privacy when they are at the hospital.
  • Parents/guardians decide whether you can take pictures of children or publish pictures of their children online. Parents should consider what is best for the child. When the child is 12 years old, great weight should be placed on what the child thinks. When the child is 15 years old, they decide for themselves whether it is okay to be photographed and whether they should be published.
  • Remember that staff must also give their permission if you want to publish pictures you have taken of them.
  • You should remove content you have published if the person involved asks you to. If someone has posted pictures of you on the internet without permission, you can ask the person to delete it. If you are not heard, you can contact: www.slettmeg.no.

Sound recordings
It is not illegal to make recordings of conversations you participate in for private use. Publishing and sharing, however, requires the consent of the person you are talking to. Secret recordings of conversations you do not participate in are illegal.

Have you worked in the healthcare sector or received healthcare abroad in the last year?

For example, this could be an admission to a hospital, extensive outpatient treatment, or a visit to the dentist. Then your family doctor must test you for bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics (for example, MRSA).

Ask your family doctor to send you the test results before your appointment with us and bring them with you when you come to the hospital.

Kiosk
You will find the kiosk on the 1st floor in the main building's vestibule at Eg.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday: 08.00-20.00
Saturday and Sunday: 09.30-20.00

In the kiosk you can buy newspapers, magazines, fruit, chocolate, biscuits, ice cream, soft drinks, flowers, cards and various gift items.

Cafeteria
"Kilden" cafeteria is located together with the kiosk and has the same opening hours.

The cafeteria serves, among other things, rolls, baguettes, salads, cakes, hamburgers and sausages.

We encourage everyone to use mobile etiquette and to respect their fellow patients. It is important to put your phone on silent at night, and on mute or vibrate during the day. Out of consideration for the other patients, it is advisable to leave the room if you need to have a longer conversation.
