Competency Unit

The Competency Unit helps to fulfill one of the hospital's four main tasks, which is the training of healthcare personnel.
We contribute to the implementation of knowledge-based practice and collaborate with the University of Agder on bachelor's degrees, further education, master's programs, and not least, internships for approximately 600 nursing students each year.

We administer the reception and introduction for approximately 70 LIS1 (doctors in specialization) each year and have collaboration with the University of Oslo on internships for medical students.

We collaborate with municipalities in Agder on mutual shadowing and combined positions.

We facilitate internships and placements for students from upper secondary schools.

We contribute to developing efficient systems for knowledge and competence sharing, have system responsibility for the Learning Portal, and lead the development of e-learning in close contact with the professional environments.
